Rayunna Reflective Post
In Fleckenstein's, St. Catherine concept of paradox of flesh stood out to me because I am religious and I believe in God and Jesus fully. The paradox of flesh is when Jesus hung on the cross, died and shed blood (flesh) for us to forgive us of our sins. The paradox of flesh is shedding blood from Jesus Christ while he was on the cross. Rhetoric is defined differently all the time and persuasion is one and religiously, I believe that the Bible is a concrete book with facts and what really happened but some people may believe that this book persuades their audience to believe the Bible with no gain (like other religious books). Rhetoric can also be described by logic and wisdom, and people believe that the Bible is lies or "too much happened" for it to be true but it is true and wisdom is different for every person, so every person would take logic and wisdom and see their truth and that is how it is today and how it will always be. The concept today is the same as then but today's rhetoric is more complex.
